KULIM, April 22 (Bernama) --
Quick action by members of the public prevented a year one
student from being fatally mauled by a Rotweiller at Taman
Sejahtera, Lunas, near here yesterday.
In the 2.15 pm incident, Nor Hanani, 7, was riding pillion on
her brother's bicycle when the dog suddenly attacked them.
According to the father, Harun Md Isa, 36, Nor Hanani fell from
the bicycle when the dog was chasing them. Her brother Mohammad
Aiman managed to escape.
The dog attacked the student furiously although residents tried
to
chase it away by
beating it with objects, including a broom, but only stopped
when a resident smashed a bicycle on it. |
The Sekolah Kebangsaan Lunas
Jaya student received
more than 20
stitches at the Kulim Hospital.
Harun, who works at Kilang Lama, thanked the public for helping
Nor Hanani.
He lodged a police report at the Lunas Police station.
It is believed the Rotweiller belonged to a resident of Taman
Desa Seni, located near the scene of the attack.
Kulim District Deputy Police Chief ASP Hamdan Basiron when
contacted confirmed the report was lodged.—BERNAMA |
