Dog Owners To Pay For License Badge For Their Pets

SHAH ALAM, Dec 29 (Bernama) -- Dog owners in Shah Alam will be required to pay RM20 for the license badge for their pets from next year, Shah Alam Deputy Mayor Za'ba Che Rus said Thursday.

He said the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) had borne the cost of the badge and dog owners had only been charged RM10 for the license since 1982.

"The charge is reasonable and will go towards meeting the expenses borne by the MBSA thus far," he told a news conference after chairing the last monthly meeting of the council for the year, here.

He also said that the charge for processing the application to obtain a dog license was reduced from RM50 to RM20.

Za'ba said the charge for the licence was retained at RM10 per year.-- BERNAMA
