Business as usual at fast food outlets

The bird flu scare is not keeping the public off their favorite meals.

General manager of McDonald’s Malaysia Yousif Abdulghani said sales have not been affected by the outbreak.

“Our chicken is from premium suppliers and is cooked at a temperature greater than 70 degrees Celsius, the level recommended by the World Health Organization,” said Yousif.

Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn Bhd marketing manager Esther Woo said it was ‘business as usual’ at Kenny Rogers Roasters outlets.

She said the restaurant follows the standard cooking procedure recommended by WHO and chicken is cooked at 85 degrees Celsius.

KFC Holdings (Malaysia) Bhd said they are monitoring the situation closely.
