BEIJING (Reuters) - A bird flu conference in Beijing wrapped up on Wednesday with total pledges of $1.9 billion from donor countries and organizations, including the United States, European Union and the World Bank. That money includes about $334 million from the United States and nearly $250 million from the European Union. |
The World Bank, which had hoped to raise at least $1.2 billion from the conference, has approved a $500 million credit line. |
