Bird Flu Not Affect Turkey's Economic Program, IMF

ANKARA, Jan 23, (Bernama) -- International Monetary Fund (IMF) officials think that the outbreak of bird flu in Turkey doesn't affect negatively Turkey's economic programme.

Anadolu news agency reported on Sunday, quoting IMF officials as saying that the IMF was carrying out a study on the possible effects of bird flu on Turkish economy.

In an earlier report prepared by International Investment Bank Morgan Stanley, it was stressed that the annual loss of the poultry sector due to bird flu in Turkey wouldn't exceed US$ 2.5 billion (US$1=RM3.75)-- BERNAMA
