Bird flu virus hits Togo

LOME: Tests carried out on birds from a town in Togo showed the presence of the H5N1 bird flu virus, Togo’s minister for fisheries and animal husbandry said on Friday. The analysis was carried out in a lab in Accra, Ghana’s capital, Yves Madow Nagou said. The sick birds came from the town of Sigbehoue, 45km from the Togolese capital of Lome.
