IT will take seven to 14 days to get the test results of the five dead pigeons found under a signboard at a shop house in Jalan Datuk Keramat, Penang, on Sunday. State Veterinary Services director Dr Zairi Serlan said the dead birds would be tested for the avian flu virus as a “surveillance” case. |
“If mortality of 3% or more is discovered in an area, such as a farm, the department will classify the case as urgent. “Test results will be available within one to three days in urgent cases,” he said. |
