GOPENG, March 29 Mac (Bernama) -- The 80 residents in
Kampung Redang Sawa and Changkat Tualang, near here, today
received compensation amounting to RM15,116.80 for their
chickens culled due to the avian flu. |
Also present was the State Veterinary Services Department Director Datuk Dr Abdul Kadir Osman.
Mohamed Radzi said a more systematic method in breeding chickens
at the villages will begin the latest by June 1.
The method not only promises better returns for the breeders but
epidemics can easily be thwarted, he said. |
Perak is among the states where the H5N1 virus was detected with Kampung Changkat Tualang near here and Ecopark Bukit Merah Laketown Resort in Taiping being the areas where the disease first surfaced.-- BERNAMA |
