BEIJING: Five officials have been fired fro mishandling an outbreak of the H5N1 strain of bird flu that killed 1,800 birds, China Daily reported yesterday. Officials in Dazhu County failed to investigate in December when a major poultry farmer reported the death of chickens and ducks, it said. The Health Ministry disclosed the outbreak in January. --- Agencies. |
