MKA has a good track record
Metro, 5 Nov 2005

I would like to refer to the letter from Healthy Dog and his views on dog training in Star Metro on Oct 25.

I find it hard to believe that Healthy Dog is a bona fide dog trainer, as no trainer worth his salt would have such a negative view on the efficacy and benefits of dog training conducted by dedicated and competent trainers.

The Malaysian Kennel Association (MKA) has been conducting obedience training classes for its members and the public for more than 20 years with great success.

Every course is fully booked and the students are from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.

Our objective is to encourage all dog owners to train their dogs to be obedient and to be under their control - in other words, to be good canine citizens.

We believe that a good canine citizen is less likely to be a nuisance or pose a threat to the public and will be more appreciated and loved by its owner. The Subang Jaya Municipal Council shares our view.

It is interesting to note that one of Healthy Dog's main grouses is “why should one organization be given such a right to decide the future of our pets.”

Perhaps Healthy Dog would want to be part of the action.

The MKA would be only too willing to enlist the help of Healthy Dog to participate in this programme but he would have to first convince us that he is as competent as our MKA trainers.
