SUBANG JAYA: "Barely three days ago, we were 230 strong, but now we're down to
50.
"Soon, there'll
be none of us left. Please take us home, we don't want to die."
This is the plea of man's best friend. Set foot in the Puchong pound, look into
the eyes of the dogs and you'll hear it.
They will be put down on Tuesday. So, if you feel you have a little love to
spare, please take one home and give it a chance to live. Each adoption costs
just RM50.

Last year,
there was a total of 3,069. This year's total, as of October, stands at 4,669.
Due to space constraints, MPSJ's health department has no choice but to
euthanize most of the dogs.
It's a weekly exercise, said health officer Dr Abdul Rahim Ahmad. He said the
root of the problem was irresponsible pet ownership.
"Don't keep a puppy just because it's cute and then turn it loose on the streets
when you have no time and don't love it any more," he said.
Currently, the council and the Independent Pet Rescuers group are working on a
plan to turn the pound into an adoption centre.

which is located in Taman Perindustrian Puchong Utama Seksyen 1. It is open from
8am to 5pm.
