Launch of the First Malaysia Responsible Dog Ownership Day and
Puppycom Canine Good Citizen Program by Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai,
Deputy Minister of Information Malaysia on September 11, 2005.
Kuala Lumpur, September 1,2005--The First Malaysia Responsible Dog
Ownership Day 2005 (MRDO Day), organized by Puppy.com.my (Puppycom)
and sponsored by Purina PetCare (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd will be held in
Central Park, Bandar Utama, Kuala Lumpur on September 11, 2005. The
first MRDO Day will be officiated and launched by Datuk Donald Lim
Siang Chai, Deputy Minister of Information Malaysia. With the
launch, every second Sunday of September each year will be declared
as the MRDO Day.
Puppycom Canine Good Citizen Program (CGC), a community project to
train dog owners on CGC, will be launched on the same day. Dogs that
have completed the training classes will generally able to obey
their owners on some basic commands and well-behave to be considered
as a canine good citizen. Having a dog that is obedient is a joy to
the owner and will not create any problem and nuisance to others or
public. This will definitely be beneficial to a multi racial society
in Malaysia.
The heads and representatives of DBKL, MPAJ, MPPJ, MPSJ, MPSP, MPS,
MPSA, MPKJ, and MPK will attend the opening and launch.
The Malaysia Responsible Dog Ownership Day is a day dedicated to all
dogs in Malaysia. The main objective of the Malaysia Responsible Dog
Ownership Day is to promote Responsible Dog Ownership among dog
lovers. With many recent incidences of dogs attacking human, this
event will serve a good platform to disseminate information on
Responsible Dog Ownership to the publics. This event is expecting
more than 3,500 dog lovers’ turn out. |
In
addition to the above, the MRDO Day definitely presents an excellent
opportunity for dog owners to socialize their dogs and at the same
time enjoy all the fun games and demonstrations. The admission to
the Malaysia Responsible Dog Ownership Day is at no charge for all.
It is also at no cost to participate in all the 6 doggie games to be
held on that day from 8:30am to 2:00pm
The
highlights of the events include: -
* The launch of the Malaysia Responsible Dog Ownership Day 2005.
* Demonstration by the K9 Unit of Custom Department of Malaysia on
Narcotic Dogs.
* Demonstration by the Police K9 Unit on Crowd Control, Crime
Control, Drug Detection, Agility and Obedience.
* Demonstration by the Malaysia Bomba Search and Rescue Team on
Search and Rescue and Fire Detection.
* Animal Show to be performed by A’Famosa Resort Group
* 6 Doggie Games where dog owners can play with their dogs
* Dog Agility and Obedience Demonstration. Free trial and use of
Agility Equipments.
* Doggie products exhibition
* Door Gifts to first 500 visitors
* Vet corner that offer free medical check and advice to dog owners.
* Dog Socialization Sessions
