Miniature Height 5-9", weight 9-11 lbs. Standard Height 9-10", weight 16-32 lbs. Clever, lively, playful, stubborn. Ideal for city & apartment living. Body is straight, long & muscular; short, muscular legs. Narrow head tapers smoothly toward small nose. 3 types of coat - smooth, wirehaired & longhaired. Smooth coat is short, thick & shiny. Wirehaired coat tight, short & coarse; its undercoat should have softer, shorter hairs between the coarse hairs. Also bushy eyebrows & beard. Longhaired is soft, sleek & slightly wavy, longer under neck & on fore chest. Smooth ones need to be brushed weekly; longhaired every other day & wirehaired 1-2 times a week. Coat colour is black, red, brindle, grey, chocolate or fawn, sometimes with tan markings. Can also be dappled (dark base colour with lighter highlights). Life span: 10-12 years
