Origin: Germany. Natural guard dog. Height 24-28", weight 66-88 lbs. Highly energetic, sensitive. Can get along with children. Can be aggressive with other dogs.  Coat is smooth, short, hard, thick & close-lying. Needs only a quick brushing once a week. Colour black, black & tan, red, blue or fawn. Sharply defined rust markings appear above each eye & on muzzle, throat, fore chest, all four legs & feet & below tail. May be a grey undercoat on neck. Life span: 10-12 years.
