ENFORCEMENT SECTION

      OBJECTIVES
 

  • To ensure all animals, foods of animal origin and drugs are save and free from zoonotic diseases.

  • To ensure that foods of animal origin are clean, wholesome and safe for human consumption.

  • To educate public about welfare and prevention of cruelty to animals.

  • Technique / Methods of meat inspection 1975

  • Acts / Gazettes  on disease control issued by Chief Minister.

     2.  Board of Nation Animal Industry Act 1972

  • Animal Industry Development Board (Slaughter  control) 1975

     3.  Veterinary Surgeons'  Act 1974
     4.  Registration of Animal Slaughtering Enactment (Specified states only)
     5.  Pig Rearing and Control Enactment (Specified states only)

NORMAL FAULT / CRIME BY PUBLIC

  • Slaughter or cause to be slaughtered  any livestock  within an abattoir except at an  approved abattoir or;

  • Sell, display for sale, or be in possession of any  carcass that has not been  slaughtered at  an approved abattoir, within an abattoir area.

Court action will be taken for those found guilty under Animal Industry Development Board (Slaughter  control) 1975. RM15,000.00 fine or jail sentence of not more than two years or both may be imposed for the first offence and RM 25,000.00 or jail sentence for five years or both for the second offence and all case items will be confiscated.

  • Movement of animals from one place to another without a movement permit or Health certificate from a Veterinary Authority.

Under Animal Ordinance 1953, Court action will be taken for this offence. Fine not more than RM 1,000.00 and all case items will be confiscated.

  • Under Animal Ordinance, 1953 cruelty to animals such as no boarding facilities, no feeding, etc.

    Court action will be taken and if found guilty,  will be imposed a fine of RM200.00 or 6 months in prison or both.
