SECRET TO SUCCESS

Success mainly attributed to:

  • Favourable corporate environment where management & staff render necessary input as well as stimulus to support QCC activities. Cooperation among management, staff & circle members is the key to an active & long lasting circle. Understanding of top management is a prerequisite for success.

  • Top management committed to give guidance & training for QCC to grow. Training is an indispensable part of QCC development. Seminars, workshops, forums designed to teach the basics are beneficial, stimulating & productive. Tremendous returns & improvement always ensues.

  • Besides good team work, members’ interest, enthusiasm, pleasure & pride in solving problems & implementing improvements without being intimidated or discouraged by failure. Fully committed.

  • Cannot rely only on devotion. Must have continual effort & spirit of challenge. Strong efforts have to be made in order to achieve concrete results. All members recognize need for self-development, improving ability and seeking new areas of personal challenge for continual progress and improvement. Through own initiative and backed by top management, members make it a habit to participate as observers presentations within locality, regional and national level in order to broaden view and mental horizons. These conventions are precious opportunities for development, learn different approaches, acquiring new concepts and techniques of  QCC and should not be missed. Progress stops if you stay within narrow confines.

  • Members yearn to further improve on customary approach, learn and apply to entail progress. Consultations with many different sources such as INTAN, MAMPU, MAS, NPC and SIRIM to gain information and apply them.

  • Open to criticism and comments from all, and last but not least,

  • Support and encouragement from family members.

OUTSTANDING EFFORTS AFTER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Especially noteworthy is our unselfish attitude of not witholding knowledge. Capable and competent enough for those who give us recognition, we share our pooled resources, experiences acquired and accumulated. We offer free consultation service, disseminating and perpetuating our knowledge to others, even transcending department boundaries. Till date, recognition given by:

  • Own department
  • Other state DVS in Malaysia; for example, Selangor, Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan
  • Sirim Malaysia Berhad
  • Chief Minister’s Department, Sarawak
  • Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) Unit, PSD Malaysia
  • Education Department, Perak and
  • Kuala Kangsar Hospital.

Such efforts are not only commendable but undoubtedly proven effective by which have materialized a number of circles winning QCC awards like for example:

  • MASA from own department receiving Director General PSD Malaysia’s award, 2002
  • SPEED from Education Department, Perak receiving Perak State Financial Officer’s award, 2002 and
  • QCC from HRMIS unit, PSD Malaysia emerging as winner in their “in-house” convention, 2002.
