Jersey or New Jersey Buff. Often referred to as fawn. Result
of cross between Bronze and White. Color even buff throughout with the
exception of flight feathers which are light, often white with
buff band. Adult toms weigh 16-28lbs and hens 8-18lbs. |

metallic black with greenish sheen plumage. About same size as
Bourbon Reds. Standard

Origin: Bourbon
county, Kentucky. Also known as Bourbon Butternut or Kentucky
Red, Regal Red or Arkansas Red. Developed from Jersey Buff breed. Brownish to dark red
plumage with white in the flight and tail feathers. Darker,
richer version of Buff. Body feathers on toms may be edged
with black. Neck and breast feathers chestnut mahogany, undercolor feathers light buff to almost white. Throat wattle
is red, changeable to bluish white and beard black.
Standard weights 33lbs for toms; 16-18lbs for hens.

Commercial strain.
Meat breed. Standard weights 30-40lbs for tom; 14-22lbs for hen. So
heavy that they cannot mate naturally, requiring artificial
insemination. Color same as Bronze. Feathers change from
copper to bronze to burnished gold as light moves across them. |

Have an exceptionally long and broad breast. Primary feathers
solid slatey black. Secondary wing feathers with white border
on their edge. Hens distinct white lacing on body.
Predominance of a brighter goldish-red cast to the iridescence
of feathers in the sunlight - hence, the name Crimson Dawn.
Males 25-40lbs; females 11-26lbs. |

America. Standard weights
34lbs for toms; 19lbs for hens. Can mate naturally. Tail and
tail covert feathers dull black with parallel lines of brown,
with end of feather having a wide band of shimmering green copperish bronze
followed by narrow black band and ending with wide white band
at tip. |

white edging and the larger comparative size of
surface feathers. Breast is white with exposed portion of each
feather ending in band of black to form contrast of black and white
similar to fish scales. Contrast of this black/white combination is
truly radiant. Same basic
pattern as Narragansett - only white replaces gray. |

Origin: Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island, New England. Pattern similar
to Bronze. Body plumage primarily deep metallic black with bands of
steel gray with slightly golden or brown tint, giving the effect of
a barred bird. Tail dull black, regularly penciled with parallel
lines of tan, edged with steel gray. Size similar to Blacks.
Hens weigh up to 18lbs and toms up to 30lbs. Excellent quality meat
& good egg production. Good fertility. Good mothers. Calmer than
most turkeys. |

Sometimes called Slates or Blues or Lavender. One variety, 3 genotypes;
True Blue, Slate and Self Blue. Slate (Also called Splash) -
color slate or ashy blue with specks of black scattered over
feathers. Blue is more of a solid, dull, grayish-blue. Self
Blue are generally very light color. Related to Blacks but
less common. Size same as Blacks. Males 18-27lbs; females
14-18lbs. |

White Holland |

Origin: Europe.
Also known as British White, Austrian White. Most popular for the commercial market, as carcass shows no
pin feathers. Holland is longer-legged and have blue eyes.
Snow white feathers and a red to bluish head. Standard weights
- 33lbs for toms; 18lbs for hens. |
