Make sure the veterinary practice cares for the type of pet you own.
  Make a get-acquainted visit; ask for brochure, policies & procedures.
  Ask about range of services that clinic provides.
  Make a tour of all the facilities. Look for a clean, sterile clinic with up to date
       equipment, a relaxed professional atmosphere. Kennel areas should be squeaky
       clean, odor free , warm, dry & comfortable at all times
  Is it neat & organized?

  Ask about hours and emergency care. Make sure
       clinic provides emergency service  for "after hours"
       situations.
  L
ocate a vet within a reasonable distance of your
       home in case of emergencies. 

  Does the doctor make phone consultations,
       house calls?

  How long has he been practicing?
  Ask questions about your pet's care. Responses are key to
       making certain you have the right person for the job.
       Vet should be knowledgeable but compassion for animals is
